The project has been prolonged until end of the year

The European Commission has approved the prolongation of the project “Installation of the bird protection measures on the high voltage electricity transmission grid in Lithuania” No. LIFE13 BIO/LT/001303. The project, which is implemented by the Lithuanian Ornithological Society in cooperation with the electricity transmission operator AB „Litgrid“, was prolonged by 5 months, until the end of 2018.
 
The main focus during the prolongation will be concentrated on the practical conservation works (C actions), monitoring (D actions) and dissemination (E actions). In parallel the higher values of the indicators will be achieved by the end of the project.
 
During the prolongation 754 markers, which increase visibility of the high voltage electricity grid, will be installed (C.2 activity), 122,80 km of wires will be marked with the special markers (C.1 and C.2 activities), 4800 units of “Wishbone” and 900 of “Saucer” type installations put on the pylons (C. 3 activity), 80 nesting boxes for the Common Kestrel erected (C.4 activity), the 5th Monitoring report of the project activities prepared (D.1 activity), the pin-up calendar published (E.6 activity) as well as the ex-ante and ex-post  report on the effectiveness of the project conservation actions in 2018 will be prepared (D.2 activity).

Projekto pradžia – 2014 m. birželis, planuojama pabaiga – 2018 m. liepa.
