ACTION E.7: Preparation and dissemination of the technical report on the bird protection measures within high voltage electricity transmission grid in Lithuania
The action aims to summarize the experience obtained during the implementation of the practical conservation actions focused on the reduction on bird mortality on the high voltage overhead electric lines network as well as improvement of the falcons breeding conditions there. The report will include detailed overview of the project outputs and will evaluate their effectiveness and impact on the bird conservation topic. The project achievements will be baseline information of the report as well as experience of different countries in the field of bird mortality reduction on the overhead electricity lines. The report also provides recommendation on the further actions in order to ensure long-term effective bird protection within high voltage overhead electricity lines grid. The recommendations will be main source for future planning of the proper bird conservation measures both on the existing and target overhead electricity lines.
The report will be drafted by the project team during the last project year, i.e. after the finalizing of the project conservation actions and having analyzed post-ante monitoring data. The first draft and its recommendations will be distributed among Project Steering Committee members for their advice and later discussed during the committee meeting. Finalized report will be submitted to the relevant nature conservation institutions, national energy supply operators as well as to the international nature conservation organizations – BirdLife International partners and WWF, and media. The report with recommendations also will be placed on the project website.
